ABOUT ME

I'm Ty, a proud descendant of five generations of sagebrush pioneers in Idaho. From a young age, my roots were firmly grounded in the landscapes of the west – an affinity that has guided my life's path. Today, my passion lies in using my skills as an ecologist to protect the natural flora, fauna, and habitat on the lands of the Pacific Northwest, while actively engaging the community in environmental conservation stewardship efforts.

Currently finishing a Master of Science in Biology at the University of Idaho, my research focuses on the intricate relationships between cattle grazing, ant mound populations, and vegetation in the sagebrush steppe ecosystem. This work delves into spatial analysis techniques, distance sampling and statistical modeling, to unveil the complex web of interactions between vegetation, grazers, and ecosystem engineers.

My journey hasn’t just been about progress; it's been a transformative experience. As a result, my aim is to bridge the gap between scientific insights and real-world conservation action, nurturing an awareness that connects communities with nature; ultimately developing a network of conservation stewards. In a changing world, our role is pivotal – to champion the delicate equilibrium that sustains us and the natural world we hold dear.

If you share my passion for ecological stewardship and conservation in the Pacific Northwest or elsewhere, I invite you to connect with me. I'm actively seeking opportunities for employment in the Pacific Northwest where I can contribute my experiences, skills and dedication to furthering the protection and preservation of our invaluable lands through coalition-based initiatives. Please don't hesitate to reach out for inquiries or to chat about the awesome landscapes found in our backyards – together, we can make a lasting impact on the wild world we cherish.

Esto perpetua; Let it be forever.
